MyLuthier was started by two friends while they were studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
We travelled Europe in search for the best contemporary makers and we’re proud of our selection and the partnerships we’ve developed.
Our showroom in central London allows players to experience the instruments for themselves. We strongly believe that we feature the finest examples from today’s best violin makers.
Everything we have in our showroom is selected based on sound, playability and craftsmanship. All of our instruments are rigorously tested and we approach them from a musician’s perspective.
Without a doubt, contemporary instruments are the best option for today’s musicians.
I thought I would never find a modern instrument that would compare to my Andrea Guarneri, but Ariel and Pedro had just such a violin! From start to finish they were helpful and professional, and I would be happy to recommend MyLuthier to anyone searching for a fine sounding instrument that doesn’t cost the earth.
Overall, our violin purchasing experience could not have been any better, and we will definitely work with Ariel and MyLuthier again if we are in the market for more instruments in the future. Thank you so much!
I am absolutely delighted with my new violin and with the help that Ariel at MyLuthier gave me in finding it. I'm not a professional so it was a bit daunting 'upgrading' but he was so friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend MyLuthier to others thinking of taking their playing to the next level.
Great place for quality instruments at affordable price! Super friendly and helpful staff too! Will definitely go back for more!
Having graduated with a Master’s degree from the Royal Academy of Music in 2016, I have since specialised in chamber ensembles and string orchestras. This has allowed me to play with leading groups such as United Strings of Europe and O/Modernt. With these groups, I have toured all over Europe and the Middle East and performed in countless venues. In addition, I co-founded MyLuthier with my friend and colleague Pedro. We dedicate our efforts to promoting contemporary instruments and enhance their visibility to our fellow musicians. It is a privilege to be able to play on some of the world’s finest contemporary instruments as well as maintain my performing career.
Pedro graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2018 with a Master of Arts in cello performance, studying with Guy Johnston. He enjoys a varied freelance career as an orchestral, chamber musician and frequently collaborates with Early Music ensembles and West End productions.
In 2017, he founded MyLuthier with his colleague Ariel Lang and now splits his time between performing and running the business.
